The Medical Undergraduate Society (MUGS) at the University of Cyberjaya stands as a vibrant, student-led force committed to empowering future medical professionals. Established in 2015, MUGS serves as the official faculty club under the Faculty of Medicine, University of Cyberjaya, and was officially registered under the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in May 2025. Ever since its inception, MUGS has been more than just a society — it is a thriving community where ambition meets opportunity, a space where students grow not only as scholars but as leaders, innovators, and compassionate healthcare advocates.
Driven by a mission to nurture both personal and professional development, MUGS curates a diverse range of impactful events and initiatives that go far beyond the classroom. From skill-building workshops and wellness programs to networking sessions and high-energy student-led campaigns, every effort is designed to enrich the medical student experience in meaningful ways.
Since its inception, MUGS has championed the holistic development of its members — recognizing that excellence in medicine isn’t solely defined by textbooks and exams, but by resilience, empathy, leadership, and collaboration. OUR OBJECTIVES
To produce medical undergraduates of UoC which are balanced in the domains of intellect, affective and spiritual, based on the pillars of Islam and obedience to Allah SWT.
To establish a bond between the various batches of medical undergraduates of UoC
To become a platform of sharing information and experiences among all medical undergraduates.
To care for the welfare of the medical undergraduates in UoC.
To establish relations and conduct inter-varsity activities with student bodies of other institutions.
To instill a sense of love and pride for UoC among the medical undergraduates of UoC.
The logo of the Medical Undergraduates Society (MUGS) is designed to embody the values and identity of the organization.
The dark magenta color (HEX code: #702C78) represents compassion and the nurturing spirit that the Society upholds in serving its members and the community. The acronym “MUGS,” derived from the society’s full name, highlights the unity and professionalism of its members. Positioned on the left of the acronym, the Rod of Asclepius serves as a universal symbol of medicine, signifying healing, care, and the noble calling of the medical profession.
Together, these elements reflect MUGS’ mission to foster growth, compassion, and excellence among future medical professionals.
