PRECISION IN PRACTICE SURGMED SUMMIT (PIPSS) 2025

The Precision in Practice SurgMed Summit 2025, organized by the Medical Undergraduates Society (MUGS), was held at the University of Cyberjaya with the theme “Innovating the Future of Healthcare: Bridging Expertise, Precision, and Practice in Surgery & Medicine.” This two-day national premier summit was designed to bring together medical students and junior doctors for an immersive experience in healthcare and surgery.

The summit featured insightful speaker sessions that addressed critical issues in Malaysia’s healthcare system, such as workforce challenges and advancements in combat medicine. These sessions were followed by hands-on medical and surgical workshops where participants engaged in practical skill-building activities while gaining valuable insights from experts in the field.

This initiative, with potential collaboration from prominent organizations such as the Malaysian Students’ Surgical Society (MSSS), InciSioN Malaysia, Malaysian Medics International (MMI), Monash University Medical Society (MUMedS), Putra Medical Club UPM, Military Medicine NDUM (MILMEDS), MAHSA MedicoUnity Society (MMUS), Surgical Interest Group Monash University Malaysia (SIGMUM), Taylor’s University Surgical Society (TUSS), and UTAR Medical & Health Sciences Society (UTAR MHSS), aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.

On Day 1 (19 July 2025), participants attended forum sessions and medical workshops. Topics included “The Crisis in Malaysia’s Healthcare Workforce” presented by MUGS, “Impact of Reduction of Housemanship Duration” by Malaysian Medics International (MMI), and “The Continuum of Military Medicine: Combat, Peacetime & Leadership” by Military Medicine NDUM (MILMEDS).
