MEET THE MUGS 2025

Meet the MUGS 2025, held on 8th October 2025 from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM at the University of Cyberjaya Grand Hall, warmly welcomed the new Year 1 MBBS students into the MUGS community. Emceed by Srilekha, the event opened with an engaging presentation by MUGS President, Rashmikka Devi, who introduced the Medical Undergraduates Society (MUGS), the official faculty club under Faculty of Medicine and its mission to empower medical students through academic, social, and community initiatives. She highlighted the key roles MUGS plays within the faculty — from organizing academic workshops and welfare programs to creating platforms that unite medical students across batches.

Following this, representatives from various student organizations took the stage to share their objectives and upcoming activities. The UoC Sunathon Committee, Medical Check-Up Team (MCUT), Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA UoC), and the Cyberjaya University Tailored Surgical Society (CUTSS) each delivered short presentations that introduced their teams, core missions, and volunteer opportunities. This segment showcased the diverse avenues available for students to explore leadership, teamwork, and service beyond academics.

To liven up the afternoon, the event continued with a fun and interactive MUGS Charades session led by Game Masters Alya and Tanuja. Students were divided into large groups and took turns acting out words related to medical terms, hobbies, and past MUGS events. Laughter filled the hall as each group competed to guess the correct answers, with the highest-scoring team taking the win and the lowest-scoring group completing a light-hearted dare — making it a memorable bonding moment for everyone.

Next, the Batch Representatives and MUGS Subcommittee Recruitment session, facilitated by Session Masters Dani and Maisarah and finalized by MUGS President, Rashmikka Devi encouraged students to step forward and take up leadership roles within MUGS. The segment explained the responsibilities of batch representatives and subcommittee members, motivating Year 1 students to actively contribute to upcoming projects and play a part in shaping the society’s initiatives for the term.

The event concluded with an insightful Sharing Session between Year 1 students and seniors from Years 3, 4, and 5. In small group discussions, seniors shared personal experiences, study strategies, and tips on managing clinical life and co-curricular balance. Each group presented one key takeaway before the session ended with closing remarks and a group photo — wrapping up a meaningful afternoon that inspired connection, growth, and a sense of belonging within the MUGS family.
