MUGS BUDDY NIGHT: SECOND EDITION (NEUROVIA X ALTHEA)

On 8th October 2025, the Medical Undergraduates Society (MUGS) hosted its annual MUGS Buddy Night at the Grand Hall, University of Cyberjaya. This year, the event took on a lighthearted and cozy twist with a pyjamas theme, encouraging students to come dressed comfortably while building bonds in a relaxed atmosphere.

Running from 5:20 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the event was designed to strengthen connections between Year 1 students and their seniors, creating a supportive academic and social network within the medical faculty.

The evening began with registration, a prayer recitation, and opening speeches by Dr. Maria Zalina binti Abdul Rahim, Advisor to MUGS, and the Rashmikka Devi, MUGS President 2025/26. This was followed by a briefing session led by the Event Director, Reshaana ensuring juniors were equipped with essential insights about medical school life.

One of the highlights of the night was the Mingle Sessions, where juniors explored creative interactive booths prepared by seniors. These activities fostered teamwork, communication, and mentorship in a fun, casual setting. After a short break for Maghrib prayers, the Adoption Session officially paired juniors with their senior buddies, forming smaller support groups. The night concluded with pyjamas-themed icebreaking games and laughter, leaving Year 1 students with cherished memories and new bonds as they embark on their medical journey.

The event successfully fostered cross-batch relationships, improved academic navigation through mentorship, and promoted inclusivity — particularly supporting international students adjusting to life at UoC.
